Ichiyo Floral Art

You can learn to arrange a few flowers and branches to create beautiful botanical art through the Japanese art of flower arranging called Ikebana. Learn the basics of using three main lines with a focal point, creating beauty and harmony among plant materials, container and setting.

Please view our List of Events to learn of recent exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops by Terri Ellis Todd, Associate Master of the Ichiyo School of Ikebana.

Lessons
When you treat yourself to a lesson in the Ichiyo School of Ikebana under the guidance of a certified Ichiyo Floral Art Associate Master/Teacher, you have the opportunity to make your own Ikebana arrangement to take home with you.

A carefully sequenced series of lessons assists the student in discovering the art of Ikebana. A printed textbook will be available to you whether you are at the beginner, intermediate or advanced level.

At the Ichiyo Floral Art Studio, appropriate seasonal plant and floral materials will be provided for your lessons, along with the use of Ikebana materials and kenzans (needlepoint holders). You will need to provide your own flower shears. Japanese style Ikebana shears, kenzans, basic containers and textbooks will be available for your purchase in class.

You may take private or group lessons at the Ichiyo Floral Art Studio in Barnardsville, NC, located about 20 minutes north of Asheville. Lessons are held by appointment at the Ichiyo Floral Art Studio in Barnardsville, North Carolina. Lessons can also be arranged for small groups at satellite locations.

For more information or to reserve space for a private or group lesson in discovering the art of Ikebana, contact Terri Ellis Todd.
