The School of Floral Arts & Design is certified by the State of New Jersey Department of Education and The Department of Work Force Development as a vocational training school.

With our comprehensive certificate program, you can be on your way to an exciting career in the floral industry in as little as four weeks.

The flower business continues to grow and change at a very rapid pace. Industry leaders and florists from around the country turn to the School for well-trained students to staff their retail stores, wholesale locations and their service businesses.

Comprehensive Program

Our NJ Approved Certificate program was created by and developed for floral professionals. Backed with years of retail and teaching experience our intensive program covers designing, shop management and good business practices tailored especially for the flower industry. You'll learn to create the smallest boutonniere to the largest altar arrangement, all in a relaxed atmosphere. This course spans 80 instructional hours, and covers many aspects of floral design, industry issues, shop management, pricing, buying, staffing and much, much more!

Some of Topics covered in the Comprehensive Program

Everyday Designs: basic round arrangement, oblong with candle, basket, mug, wrapped bouquet, vases.

Wedding designs: bridal and bridesmaids' bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages, cake decorating, floral headpiece, flower girl basket, altar basket, duchess rose and more . . .

Sympathy designs: casket covers, sprays, wreaths, memorial pillows, rosarys

Shop management lectures: delivery, staffing, wedding and sympathy consultations, suppliers, store layout and window display, prepping for holidays, wire services and more!
Short Courses and Hobby Classes

The school also offers workshops and short courses for industry professionals to expand their skills, and for hobbyists to discover fun tips and techniques for floral arranging and design.
