General Information

Dear Madam/Sir,

World Floral Expo yearly organised in Miami Florida, THE gateway for floral products into the US market, is planned to be held in 2009 from Tuesday March 10 to Thursday March 12 in the Doubletree Miami Mart/Airport Hotel & Exhibition Center; just 10 minutes away from Miami International Airport and at 10 minutes distance from over 300 Miami based floral importers and suppliers. As more than 90% of all Floral and Foliage Products are imported through Miami, making it USA’s Floral Main Port., the choice for Miami as Show location is obvious and key to the success of the Trade Show.

In Miami the Doubletree Miami Mart/Airport Hotel & Exhibition Center has become WFE’s home base for its yearly held Trade Show inviting the World Floral Industry to exhibit any floral and/or foliage products ready to be offered for US Floral Consumption.

World Floral Expo 2008 attracted 365 qualified floral buyers from mainly USA and Canada with 151 exhibiting companies from 19 countries and 5 continents. Attending buyers were very excited and satisfied with the quality and diversity of flowers and other floral products that were on display in the ‘sold out’ Expo. The 7 participating African countries that presented flowers from 33 different African growers were again one of the highlights and the talk of the Show. High freight costs are still the main hurdle to take, but an increasing number of importers are investigating how to get African flowers into the US market.

The Expo is open to qualified buyers only - wholesale distributors and volume retailers, such as supermarkets, retail chain stores and other mass market buyers - for whom a strict admission policy is being executed in order to guarantee the quality standards of floral buyers visiting the Expo.

After having succeeded in getting African growers into the Show, the organisers are now committed to bring more exhibitors into the 2009 edition from other continents, where cut flowers are produced & ready for export to new markets, such as e.g.China.

The Trade Show is therefore ready for the next step to further internationalisation and making this Expo the most important and biggest Floral and Foliage Show in the USA. Also on behalf of the Miami based WFE’s Advisory Board we all welcome you to participate in the 5th edition of World Floral Expo next year, to be held from March 10-12 in Miami, Florida, USA.

Buyer Admission Policies.

Admission to WFE is strictly enforced to protect the interests of the exhibitors. All attendees at the Show must be Wholesale Florists and/or other volume buyers who sell directly to end-customers or hospitality industry buyers. Miami Dade County based importers are not permitted to attend but are permitted to exhibit.

Flower Importers & Distributors Miami Dade County based importers are not permitted to attend but are permitted to exhibit.
Retail Florists Are permitted to visit if the business sells minimum of $1 million in floral and foliage products per year.
Media / Press Are permitted to visit.
Designated Buying Agents (DBA) Buyer for floral retailer but not an employee and must be sponsored by a supermarket or mass market retailer.
Non Exhibiting Suppliers No. Can not visit World Floral Expo.
