About us

Griffin’s Greenhouses is a family run business entering its thirty-third year of business. Ann and Jack Griffin began selling plants from a road side stand in 1976. Ann’s father, a Dutch immigrant who owned Parkhill Nurseries of Peterborough, grew plants for them and eventually helped them erect their first greenhouse on their property. Ann and Jack’s business eventually grew to a ten month a year business with multiple greenhouses, an award winning display garden, and two garden gift shops.

The staff at Griffin’s Greenhouses grows approximately 90% of the plants we sell. We specialize in Container Gardening and offer a wide range of containers, soil mixtures and water retention agents, and specialty annuals. Our hanging baskets and window boxes feature beautiful combinations. We also offer interesting suggestions for featuring perennials and specialty annuals in unique containers.
Our staff takes time with each client and offers suggestions and tips to make each plant purchase an enjoyable and successful.

In 2002, Ann and Jack’s daughter Victoria joined the business as the general manager. She is the driving force behind the Seminar and Workshop Series offered each season. More recently, Kyle, Ann and Jack’s son, joined the business as Greenhouse Manager. He is a fundamental asset in the day-to-day running of this successful operation.
