As one of the nation’s top rated floral design schools we bring the very best to the classroom and consequently give our students the competitive edge they need to be successful. In today’s floral industry trends in design are constantly changing. To meet the demands instructors at the South Florida Center for Floral Studies located in West Palm Beach, Florida, are always updating by attending national floral design symposiums, workshops and seminars.

The School offers compressed courses in both Basic Floral Design FD-101 and Advanced Floral Design FD-102. Many students do not have weeks or months to devote to training in a new career. The classes are not only dedicated to educate students in floral design using the latest in products but also offer comprehensive study in areas of business, shop management, buying procedures all in a wholesale environment!

The South Florida Center for Floral Studies leases classroom and office space inside of a full-service wholesale florist located in West Palm Beach, Florida. Students have access to shopping at wholesale prices while attending class. In addition to buying students are exposed to a functioning wholesaler filled with a wide assortment of fresh flower, foliages as well as giftware, silk flowers and a complete line of hard goods in an 18,000 square foot facility. To view pictures of the facility check out Classroom Photos.

Many out-of-town event designers use the wholesale facility to do their work. Occasionally students are also exposed to watch top notch designers like New York based Reny & Reed and Preston Bailey as they create artful designs for prestigious events such as Donald Trump’s wedding. As part of the classes students are taken on a tour of the wholesale house as well as prestigious area shops.

While the school has trained florists from all around the world several of our students have received the outstanding designation of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD). Not all design school instructors meet the rigid qualifications required by AIFD. John Klingel and Vince Petrovsky are accredited members of AIFD and have dedicated themselves to the profession. More information on the school’s affiliations is located on the Affiliations tab.

John has also recently published a book, “The Frugal Florist: Do-it-Yourself Flowers on a Budget”, and has created a series of educational “Design Table” DVDs for the professional florist. You can get started now with your career in flowers by purchasing your copy of the book and the 4-disc set of the DVDs from our shopping cart.

As a school of floral design The Center specializes in the sale and use of fresh flowers and foliages. Being that we are located in the Palm Beaches, which is a sub-tropical climate, many exotic flowers and foliages are available to us. The name Florida means flower. So plan to attend the flower arranging/business classes soon and learn from professional floral designers and shop owners the correct way.
